Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Attorney

Advising Energy and Infrastructure Projects

Areas of Representation

Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts are central to the successful delivery of energy and infrastructure projects. These agreements allocate critical risks related to cost, schedule, performance, and completion, and can significantly impact project economics and execution.

I represent developers, investors, contractors, and other stakeholders in connection with EPC and construction-related matters in Georgia and across multiple jurisdictions. My approach is informed by industry experience and focused on structuring agreements that align with project objectives and real-world conditions.

I have substantial experience negotiating and managing EPC and construction contracts from both a legal and executive perspective, including service as CEO and General Counsel of a renewable energy company.

Leveraging that experience, I advise clients on a wide range of EPC and construction contracting matters, including:

Key Considerations in EPC Contracts

EPC agreements often determine how project risks are allocated and managed. Key considerations include:

  • Alignment of contract terms with project schedule and financing

  • Clear allocation of responsibility for delays and cost overruns

  • Coordination between EPC and other project agreements

  • Flexibility to address unforeseen conditions and changes

Careful structuring of EPC contracts can help reduce disputes, improve project execution, and protect overall project value.

Approach

EPC contracts sit at the intersection of legal, technical, and commercial considerations. I work with clients to:

  • Identify risks that may affect project timelines and economics

  • Structure agreements that reflect practical construction realities

  • Align EPC terms with broader project objectives

Drawing on experience within the renewable energy industry, I focus on providing advice that supports efficient project delivery and minimizes execution risk.

Geographic Scope

While based in Georgia, I advise clients on EPC and construction matters across multiple jurisdictions, particularly where projects involve complex contracting structures, multi-state portfolios, or coordination among multiple stakeholders.

Where appropriate, I coordinate with local counsel to address jurisdiction-specific requirements.
