Energy Industry and Projects

Legal Counsel for Energy Developers, Utilities, and Large Energy Users

Energy and infrastructure projects present a unique combination of legal, regulatory, and commercial challenges. Decisions made during development, contracting, and interconnection can have a lasting impact on project timelines, costs, and overall returns.

I represent developers, investors, utilities, and large energy users in connection with a wide range of energy projects, with a primary focus on matters in Georgia and across the Southeast, as well as multi-state projects involving complex contracting and regulatory considerations.

With experience as both a former CEO and General Counsel of a renewable energy company, I bring a practical, business-oriented perspective to legal issues affecting energy projects.

Scope of Practice

My practice focuses on key areas within the energy industry, including:

Legal support for utility-scale and distributed solar projects, including development, contracting, and operational matters.

Counsel on standalone and paired storage projects, including structuring, contracting, and regulatory considerations.

Advice on regulatory frameworks, utility practices, and policy developments affecting energy projects and market participants. Representation before state public service commissions.

Legal counsel on energy supply, infrastructure, and regulatory considerations associated with large load customers, including data centers and other high-demand facilities.

Drafting, negotiation, and advice related to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements.
